Ensuring all institutions adhere to approved codes of conduct registered with the Ministry of Labour.

Collective Bargaining Agreements

Verifying compliance with negotiated collective bargaining agreements across all member institutions.

Hazard Identification

Proactive identification and mitigation of workplace hazards before incidents occur.

Labour Market Instruments

Adherence to all relevant labour market instruments in terms of the Labour Act Chapter 28:01.

Minimum Wages Compliance

Ensuring employers adhere to minimum wage agreements set through collective bargaining.

Disability & Inclusion

Monitoring workplaces for compliance with disability inclusion policies and equal opportunities.

Inspection Process

  1. Scheduling: Inspections are planned and scheduled in advance or conducted on an unannounced basis where necessary.
  2. On-site Assessment: NECMUNAI inspectors visit the premises and assess compliance with all relevant instruments.
  3. Hazard Identification: Inspectors proactively identify workplace hazards and document findings.
  4. Report & Recommendations: A detailed inspection report is produced with recommendations for corrective action.
  5. Follow-up: Follow-up inspections are conducted to ensure corrective measures have been implemented.
